Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant. Attended Engineer Officers’ Basic Course, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and Airborne School, Ft. Benning, Georgia.

1960 – 1962:

Platoon Leader and Company Commander, 4th Engineer Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, Ft. Lewis, Washington and Karlsruhe, Germany. Promoted 1st Lieutenant in 1961.

1963 – 1964:

Company Commander, 809th Engineer Battalion (Construction), Panom Sarakham, Thailand.

1964:

Promoted Captain. Attended Engineer Officers’ Advanced Course, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia.

1964 – 1966:

Graduate studies, University of Missouri, Rolla, Missouri. Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (Soils and Foundation Engineering).

1966 – 1969:

Engineer Advisor, U.S. Military Group Guatemala. Promoted Major in 1969.

1970 – 1971:

Construction Engineer, U.S. Military Assistance Command Vietnam, Gia Dinh Province, Vietnam.

1971:

Facilities Engineer, Ft. Hamilton, New York.

1971 – 1972:

Attended Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.

1972 – 1973:

Staff Officer, Materiel Requirements Branch, Engineer Division, U.S. Army Combat Developments Command, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia.

1973 – 1974:

Staff Officer, Materiel Requirements Branch, Materiel Systems Division, U.S. Army Engineer School, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia.

1974 – 1978:

Professor of Military Science, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, Polytechnic Institute of New York, Brooklyn, New York. Promoted Lieutenant Colonel in 1976. Graduate studies, Polytechnic Institute of New York. Professional Engineer’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering).

1978 – 1980:

Commander, 4th Battalion, U.S. Army Engineer Training Brigade, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia.

 

1980:

Retired from the Army.

1980 – 2010:

Consulting Geotechnical Engineer.
